|As part of DeKalb County’s $1.35 billion capital improvement program, the Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will be improving the water infrastructure in your community. The Briarcliff Corridor Water Infrastructure Replacement Project will include replacing 44,500 feet of water main in the Briarcliff Road/N. Decatur Road area.
This letter serves as formal notification that construction activities associated with this project will begin on September 22, 2019. Work is expected to last approximately 24 months, unless unforeseen circumstances arise that may impact this schedule. Normal construction hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. Construction in the Emory Village area will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
Please be advised to expect an increase in construction-related noise and traffic during work hours. Property owners will be notified 48 to 72 hours prior to the start of impactful construction activities. Our construction crews will work diligently to minimize the impact on residents. To ensure heavy equipment and large truck access to the project site, we urge residents to refrain from parking on the street during construction hours.
Granite Inliner, GS Construction, Renee Group, and SD&C, working on behalf of DeKalb County, are the four (4) authorized contractors for the Briarcliff Corridor Water Infrastructure Replacement Project. The contractors will install 12-inch or 8-inch ductile iron pipe within the road right of way with a single lane closure in place as the work progresses. Traffic control measures will be implemented to assist drivers in moving safely through the construction zones. All workers will be wearing proper identification.

We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to make improvements to DeKalb County’s water infrastructure system.
