Make sure you voice is heard by making a plan to vote!  June 9th General Primary Election is just Days Away!   Return your Absentee Ballot ASAP  OR Make a Plan to Vote Early in Person!

For Voting Absentee or by Mail

To vote by mail, there is still time, but it is running short – you need to take action as soon as possible.  You can print out your application here.

For returning your absentee ballot: (Ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on June 9th).

US Postal Mail:  If you sent after Wednesday, June 3rd, I encourage you to take your ballot to an Absentee  Ballot Drop Box OR an Early Voting Location. Ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on June 9th.

Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes Located at:

  • DeKalb Elections, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, 30032
  • Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Rd NE, Brookhaven GA 30319
  • Exchange Park, 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur, 30034.  These are outside, secure and open 24 hours a day.
  • Other locations will be announced in next day or so, in Stonecrest, Chamblee, Tucker, and Dunwoody

Return to Early Voting location  Before June 5th, you can walk the ballot into an Early Vote Location, such as South DeKalb Mall, and drop it off.  For a list of Early Vote locations, look here.

Check on your Voting Status at Georgia My Voter Page

To check on the status of your application, go to Georgia My Voter Page.  Look in the bottom left corner, under Absentee Ballot Status.  You can see:

  • the date your application was received
  • the date they issued your ballot
  • the date your ballot was received.

If you have any questions about your application or ballot, call DeKalb Elections at:  404.298.4040. Or Call Voter Protection Hotline:  1-888-730-5816.

If you requested a ballot and have not received, please call the Elections office!  You may need to re-submit an application!  As a matter of fact, if you sent in an application and haven’t been issued a ballot, and it has been over 14 days, you should call first, and then re-submit via email if you don’t get through on the phone.

For Voting Early in Person:

Early Voting In Person – Do this as soon as possible!  Go this weekend if you can!

I have heard from several people that Early Voting in Person is going smoothly in DeKalb, without long wait times.  But these lines will likely get longer on June 4th and 5th, so don’t wait.

So if you are comfortable being in public, and you want to know your vote is taken care of, this is a good option. Of course, please wear a face covering and physically distance yourself from others!  But please, go as soon as you can, in case there is ANY issue with your voting status. And have the Voter Protection # handy:  1-888-730-5816, just in case.

If you have requested an Absentee Ballot, you will be asked to sign an affidavit on-site that cancels the absentee ballot.

All of DeKalb’s Advanced Voting Site and Dates/Times are listed here.  Early Voting Ends Friday, June 5th.  At Memorial Drive and South DeKalb Mall, you can vote:

  • Monday – Friday of this week, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Memorial Drive and S. DeKalb Mall locations.  Lots of choices!

Voting on Election Day, June 9th

If you wait to vote on Election Day, please check your polling precinct. Many of these have closed due to virus concerns,  so double check and confirm that your polling place is confirmed before you head out to vote.  Here is the current list, but I heard today that Decatur locations are changing, so please check back.
